Search Engine Promotion Secrets
- Search Engine Promition
One of the first things to do is
make that your site is fully functional. You would be surprised at how
many sites are on the internet that are not, whether this means that
they have broken links, missing pages, or the site is not-navigable.
There are many tools to help you with this. One thing that should be
on the top of your list is making sure you have your keywords, description,
and title perfect. We produced a checklist from all of the search engines
that helps us to make sure that your site is ready when we go to submit
it to the search engines
- Search Engine Robots and Spider
Spiders, Bots, and Crawlers are defined as: Computer applications that
travel Internet's various resources in search of web sites for it's
host database to list and offer to information seekers. This type of
program reads and copies text and other sources of informative content
from your site, then assigns that particular URL, or page, a ranking
based upon relevancy of certain keywords, phrases, and subject matters.
These automated applications are preprogrammed to review page construction
and coding to then add (or remove) that page to a database based on
it's rank achieved.
- HTML Tags and Optimization
One of the most important things a legitimate professional search engine
optimizer can remember to do is check all of the HTML tags for a page
and make sure that they are optimized. If you are unclear as to what
HTML is, it is the code that makes up a web page. For everything that
a web master wants to do to the appearance of a site, there is a tag
to make it work. This works also for search engine optimization.
- Optimizing Web Site Themes for Search Engines
The search engine optimization strategy of theming a web site is more
common sense and usability than trickery. The basic premise behind the
strategy of thumbing a website is that each section of the website must
be relevant to the other section, and only the sections that are relevant
to each other are linked together.
- Link Popularity Strategy
There are three types of links that will increase the link popularity
of your site; internal, incoming and outgoing links.
- Dynamic Web Site Optimization
As you know, Search engines send out their spiders to index the pages
of a site. Most of these spiders index most of the content like static
HTML pages, images and other content. But when indexing deep inside,
when they encounter a question mark sign (?), which is the most obvious
element in a database driven page, they just stop indexing there and
then. Oops, too bad! So, is that end of the road for you? Is all the
effort that you put into the page and the database, all of no use for
you to attract the search engines?
- Google PageRank
PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using
its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page's value.
In essence, Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote,
by page A, for page B. But, Google looks at more than the sheer volume
of votes, or links a page receives; it also analyzes the page that casts
the vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves "important" weigh
more heavily and help to make other pages "important."
- Search Engine Ranking
Quite possibly the best approach to take on if you are looking to have
your site rank well is to do one of two things. Either work on your
site yourself, or trust it to the professionals. If you are going on
your own, research the exact market you want your web site to be presented
to, and hone in on the trends employed by surfers interested in these
subject matters. Over time, you may just be able to achieve what you
want - high ranking results.
- Search Engine Traffic
The types of traffic that a web site is receiving is what will make
or break its online presence and effectiveness. The information gained
from analyzing traffic to a web site can prove invaluable. The information
that can be found through an effective analysis session can be used
for soliciting advertisers, tracking which promotion methods work best,
and even suggest improvements to the site.
The consistent and methodical tracking and analyzing of traffic to
any web site can prove to be invaluable for serious web site owners.
Hidden within many server logs and scary looking code, lies a wealth
of information that one would need to know in order to improve the
site in many ways.
There are many tools that can be used to analyze traffic and server
logs. Regardless of the tools used by any site owner or optimizing
professional, the following information should be researched to maximize
site potential. Again, these are only the basics, but do serve as
very informative sources to help determine web sites effectiveness
from the user's point of view.
- Secure Search Engine Placement
Having a domain of your own can be used to raise search engine positions
if you index your site to your advantage. You're thinking how right?
I will use this site as an example. For navigation and layout purposes
I have split this site up into several smaller sites. These are broken
down into even smaller sites with specific audiences in mind. The html
index which is a reference for HTML code and document layout, the tutorial
index which is generally lessons on how to implement the reference materials
in the HTML index, the site developers index which is an index for references
and resources of interest to site developers and marketers. The site
developers area is indexed into three areas. Two are the new promotion
and search engine indexes and the third is the original index.
